Meet Faye, Our Creative Designer

Meet Faye, Our Creative Designer

Can you tell us a bit about your background and what led you to pursue a career in design?

For me, creative design is the perfect blend of creativity and problem-solving, which allows me to be not only creative but strategic in my thinking and designing. I love seeing my ideas come to life and seeing how design can change the way people experience and interact with the world.

Can you share a specific project or design that you are particularly proud of and explain why it stands out to you?

A proud moment in my career to date is concepting and illustrating a mural for a well-known beauty and spa brand’s 30th Anniversary. I was thrilled to be asked and even more excited when I saw the illustrations come to life at an event – they even printed the illustrations onto little macaroons!

What was the most unconventional source of inspiration you’ve ever drawn from for a design project?

Inspiration comes from everywhere and everything we see. I can be sat at my desk for hours with no end in sight and go for a walk and come back with a hundred ideas, sometimes a good walk is all you need!

If you could collaborate with any designer or artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

If I had to choose one I’d say Matisse. His use of colour really inspires me and his ability to find ways to design and create even in his elderly age is amazing!

When you’re not immersed in design work, what passion projects or hobbies do you indulge in?

Other than graphic design, I love to paint and draw! I’ve recently finished a piece where I drew 250 memories in individual little squares – it took me over four months to finish!

What’s a recent trend in event/exhibition design that you’re excited about, and how do you think it will evolve in the next few years?

I’m new to the events and exhibition world but one recent advancement I’m excited about is augmented reality and how we can use it to create a buzz around an event before they even begin!

What attracted you to Taylex Group, and how do you see your role as a Designer contributing to our company’s mission and projects?

I’ve always loved campaign activations, taking a concept and bringing it to life! Working in an industry that delivers real-life solutions to this is really exciting and working for a company that does it so well is just a bonus!
