Current Roles

Computer Aided Design Technician

This is a fantastic opportunity for a CAD technician to join this leading design and production company, specialising in exhibitions, events and interiors. Based in the Midlands, this is a new and exciting role within the technical design team.

Reporting directly to the Technical Lead, as the CAD technician you will be responsible for overseeing the production of working drawings for use in the workshop for both traditional build and beMatrix stands, along with preparing CAD drawings for use on the CNC machine.

Key duties will include;

  • To proactively manage your workload to ensure uninterrupted workflow of the production facility
  • Preparation of working drawings, graphics layouts and beMatrix pick lists for the manufacturing process from supplied visuals, concepts, briefs, sketches and existing files into large-scale print outs using SketchUp, Layout and AutoCAD
  • Prepare CAD models to ensure the highest sustainable yield when utilising the CNC machine and optimisation of production
  • Manage the control and distribution of drawings internally and externally where applicable
  • Work closely with Production, Graphics, Design and Project Management to ensure margin protection and offer technical support where necessary
  • Promote fresh and innovative thinking towards client solutions
  • Management and development of the CNC / CAD team to ensure output matches the growth of the department

To be successful for this role you will have;

  • Previous relevant experience from within a similar role
  • Experience working with SketchUp, Layout, AutoCAD
  • Experience working with BeMatrix and SEG fabrics plus similar exhibition systems is beneficial
  • Prepare working drawings from supplied visuals and specifications for fabrication
  • Knowledge of traditional exhibition construction methods
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines

Exhibition Carpenter

We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced exhibition Carpenter / Bench Joiner, based in the West Midlands to help us out with various projects.

To be successful for this position you will have previous experience from within an exhibition, shop fitting or joinery business.

This is a hands-on role, working together in a team you will have a positive attitude with a great teamwork ethic. High attention to detail and accuracy is crucial in this position. Previous joinery / shop fitting experience is essential.

Project Manager

Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a successful exhibition and event company, here at the Taylex Group we manage the design and build of exhibition stands / event spaces for a number of high-profile brands.

As Project Manager you will be responsible for the overall management of the project from tender through to completion on site.

Key duties will include;

  • Budget management for each project, from start to finish
  • Acting as the link between the client, workshop and wider departments
  • Briefing the design team and tendering
  • Management of overall specifications and finishes
  • Ordering and management of sub-contracted services
  • Logistics, timings and deadline management
  • Project Management onsite including staff management
  • Client handovers and feedback at the end of each project

To be successful in this position you will be an experienced Project Manager, with excellent organisational skills. You will have excellent relationship-building skills and will be proficient in problem solving. Experience with the events and exhibition industry is essential.
