Our Sales Director recently gave a quick-fire interview on their role, experience, and insights in the exhibitions sector…. you can read the interview notes below:

 

 

How would you describe your position at Taylex Displays?

My official title at Taylex Displays is sales director. 

My responsibilities are taking care of the future growth of Taylex exhibitions and events. Moving forward we would like to work with clients as their events and exhibition partner working in partnership with them to achieve better returns on their exhibitions and events. Taylex Displays offers a mix of unique services designed to help our clients tell their stories and bring their brand to life. 

What does a typical day at Taylex look like for you?

As we offer bespoke services to our clients, every client comes with different challenges and unique marketing objectives, which means no two days are the same.

In your opinion, what makes a successful exhibition?

In my experience, pre and during the event marketing, compelling brand engagement, and visual impact are the three key elements that ensure the success of an event for a client. 

What has been your most memorable exhibition project so far?

The most exciting project during my time with Taylex so far has been working with Sewing Quarter, to deliver their shopping channel to a live audience at the festival of quilts at Birmingham NEC. 

Taylex worked in partnership with Sewing Quarter to design, build and deliver a live theatre which mimicked their existing TV studio. Live performances were scheduled throughout the day and broadcasted back to the live TV studio every hour. In addition, Taylex also delivered a separate exhibition stand at the same event which doubled up as a workshop and a retail unit. 

Brand consistency was the key objective of this project in order to make Sewing Quarter easily recognisable to their existing fans and to raise awareness whilst attracting new viewers and subscribers to their YouTube channel, and followers across their social media channels. 

The client was thrilled with the outcome and received record-breaking visitors to the stand across the duration of the show. 

What do you find most rewarding about working within the events industry?

Having a happy client that is pleased with the outcome of their event or exhibition. 

How do you remain motivated when under pressure?

As anybody in this industry is aware, there is a lot of work that goes into organising the presence of an event. The rewards far outweigh any negatives. Laughter is a good motivator, and concentrating on the positives – there are a lot of them!

What makes Taylex different from other exhibition agencies?

The Taylex team is made up of individuals with many years of experience in all aspects of the event and exhibition industry. We pride ourselves by offering our clients a unique mix of services which enable us to deliver an end to end solution. 

Many of our competitors will design and build a good exhibition stand, whereas we work in partnership with our clients right from exhibition and event strategy through to design, build, install, and analysing the results after the event. 

We are always looking for ways to improve and put our clients ahead of their competition.
