Lockdown has created huge challenges for the exhibitions and hospitality sector. Within the space of a week, Taylex went from a vibrant and busy start to the year to zero work in the pipeline thanks to a cancellation of all events and exhibitions. Faced with a sudden fall of revenue, we not only survived lockdown but thrived! Rather than dwell on the frustrations, we immediately began to focus on the opportunities. Create new revenue streams and grow existing partnerships Probably most important, Taylex set about following Government guidelines and restrictions to protect our staff and customers.
Before we embarked on anything we ensured our protocols were solid and our team was safe! We set about looking at new sectors we could target and began speaking to both existing partners and other like-minded companies about how we could collaborate and prosper together. We focused our efforts on identifying other markets and sectors that we could help and support such as the NHS, Care Homes, Retailers and we continued to support our local community. We have forged many new partnerships along the way and retained our valued workforce. Crucially, we have secured many new projects from this. From building testing centres and visitor pods for the NHS and care homes, through to helping local shopping centres become covid-safe and helping retailers refurb their shops and outlets. Taylex has gradually moved into more areas where our skills and innovative ideas fit.
Investing in our workforce Due to the massive pivots, we have made to our business model, we have strengthened our senior management structure to ensure projects run smoothly and maintain our profitability. We also invested in training for staff to ensure they are fully up to speed with the projects we are taking on. Our Partners Over the last 5 months, we have massively strengthened our existing partnerships and have forged many new and exciting business relationships. Over the coming weeks/months we will be showcasing who our partners are, what they do and how they have kept their business strong so stay tuned… Exhibitions and events are still at our core Of course, having new and exciting revenue streams is now a part of Taylex and we’re as passionate about all aspects of what we do but the events and exhibitions sector are at the heart of our brand.
Taylex has continued to work with ESSA, AEO and AEV to lobby and influence the government and explain the importance of the event industry in the UK – https://www.essa.uk.com/project-confidence Positivity and the future Taylex has worked tirelessly over the last 5 months and managed to grow experientially during these tough and uncertain times, and we are now ready for even more action post-lockdown! We will continue to work alongside our partners and hopefully forge new relationships along the way. Our focus is to continue to support our clients, enhance our reputation further and keep moving forward.
